+ who's who +
(we love these people:)
Maid of Honor:
Janna Laugherty = julie's sister. She's 22, and an Elementary Ed major at Southwest Baptist in the-middle-of-nowhere Missouri. She will be a great teacher. She claimed I forgot to ask her to be the maid of honor, but if i did, thats because there was never any question in my book about who would be standing there. Oh, plus, she's halirious, and we have a great time together.
Bridesmaids:
Madison Laugherty = julie's sister. Madison is 13 years old, and a sweet girl. She will be in the 8th grade this fall (!), is very good at piano playing, being dramatic, and telling stories. In fact, if you want to know my life story, or hers, or anyone shes knows-'s life story, ask her! Plus, I love her.
Molly Laugherty = julie's sister. Molly is 11 years old, and we have the same hair color and sense of humor. She is a good artist and violinist, and will be in the 6th grade this year. She is also very good at pranks, so watch out. I love her, too.
Emily Orten = (one of) julie's college roommate. Emily is getting her Master's degree in special education at Union University, which is wonderful. Emily loves the south, and chocolate, and has good taste in TV shows. She has the great gift of telling things how they are, which is much needed in the world. I'm so glad she's a bridesmaid!
Jessica Schranz = (another one of) julie's college roommate. She is living around Chicago and working for a higher education group, reading and passing along resumes, etc. Also, she is the best typist i know. Jes is quite encouraging, especially when things are overwhelming in general. Jes has good taste in music, loves dolphins and is willing to travel. And! shes halirious.
flower girl = josie deustch (julie's friend). josie and i are old friends, at least 4 years worth. we always have a good time together, and i'm so glad she gets to be my flowergirl! she will be cute as a button.
= kara garcia (julie's cousin's daughter. second cousin, perhaps?) Kara gets to come all the way from florida to be a flower girl, and im so excited that she gets to do that. To up the special-ness factor, her mom (my cousin) was the flowergirl in my parents wedding 26 years ago. thats awesome.
Best Man:
Adam Stuber= Jed's brother. They lived together their whole life. Adam is the younger, but taller one.
He just got a new job in Milwalkee, which is good, but also not so good. He is married to Rachel, (and they are the first Stubers Julie met, after Jed, of course.) Jed is so glad that Adam could come down to be his best man.
Kevin King = one of jed's tremont friends. I don't really know this guy, but i heard there was a lot of crazy stuff that happened. One of which involved a polka dotted car, and a barn that blew up. Ask about this.
Derek Uhler = another one of jed's longtime friends. Now he's married to Leslie and has joined the navy. from what i heard, he also has the most comfortable leather couch known to man.
Kevin Gustafson = one of jed's current roommates, and our future next-door-neighbor. Kevin is just our favorite guy, and thats all there is to it. We admire him for his amazing planning ability, his ever-open-home, and his faithfulness to his blog, without which we would not know what was going on in the world. He works at CAT, and is way involved at bethany baptist, which is a good thing for our sunday school class. We love you, kevin!
Chris Gebhart = another one of jed's current roommates. also, he was jed's first roommate in peoria. hes amazingly dedicated to anything he sets his mind to, grew up on a cow farm, and brings jed back fresh cow milk when he visits. He works at CAT and is getting married 3 weeks or something after us. hurray.
Ring bearers = jed's nephews, Rylan & Colton Anderson. if only i had a picture--they are adorable! we can also thank colton for praying for jed to get married faithfully for 3ish years. [jed edit: not only are there pictures, but videos too.]
Pastor = Daniel Bennett.
Julie's youth pastor, and Jed's debate partner, sometimes. Even though he's going to to start the washington church plant, we couldnt resist asking him to do our wedding because he, like us, was an english major, (i hope im not wrong about that), and his amazing joke telling ability. we're also really grateful for him squeezing us into his ridiculously busy schedule, and to his wife, whitney and kids, for letting us do that to them.
Parents:
where would we be without them? we are so thankful for them, and all they have done for us, and to us.
